RecordHTML

RecordHTML / Website to video

Record any web page as an MP4 video

Record an accessible webpage as MP4 at a chosen viewport and frame rate. This captures browser playback of the page; it is not a downloader for source video files, protected streams or content behind a login.

Create an account or sign in, then review your settings. Your URL and output format carry over. Choose your ZIP file in the recorder after signing in; no file is uploaded on this page.

This records a rendered animation or webpage; it does not preserve interactivity or download the original media from a site. For an original video, use the owner-provided download or export option.

  • Accessible public URLs
  • Custom viewport
  • MP4 or WebM
  • Optional GIF output

Screen recording vs. frame-accurate recording

Manual screen capture

Desktop capture depends on your display resolution, window size, system load and when you press record. A busy machine can drop frames, and the start or end may need manual trimming. It can be useful for interactive walkthroughs, but matching an exact banner canvas takes extra preparation.

Configured browser recording

RecordHTML sets the viewport, output frame rate and recording length explicitly, then encodes the result with an exact frame count. It records real-time browser playback; it does not promise deterministic virtual-time rendering or that an overloaded creative cannot stutter. Test the animation, review the output, and use markers for repeatable timing.

Settings to check before delivery

Use even-numbered dimensions and match the original creative or destination screen. Video supports 23.976, 29.97 and 59.94 fps alongside whole-number options; GIF accepts whole numbers from 1 to 30 fps. Set the length within your account limit: the default is 60 seconds, while the recorder schema allows up to 300 seconds when configured. Choose audio for video only. Crop removes part of the viewport; scaling changes the output dimensions. GIF looping can be continuous or single-play, and final GIF output must not exceed 2,073,600 pixels, equivalent to 1920×1080.

Capture what the page renders

Provide the URL of a page you own or have permission to record. RecordHTML opens it in a real browser and captures the visible viewport as it plays. CSS animation, JavaScript, WebGL and embedded media can appear in the output. A page that requires cookies, a login, a CAPTCHA or user interaction may not play as expected; the recorder does not bypass those requirements.

Choose a viewport and a useful starting point

Set the width and height to match your intended presentation, then choose when recording starts and how long it lasts. The recorder captures a configured viewport, not an automatic full-page scroll or a guided click-through. For a product walkthrough that requires interactions, prepare a page that plays the sequence itself or use a dedicated interactive screen recorder.

Export a recording, not the original media

The MP4 is an encoded recording of the page, not a copy of an original video hosted on it. If you need the original file, use the site owner download or export option, subject to permission. For a silent webpage-to-GIF export, select GIF and keep the output within its pixel and frame-rate limits. MOV is not a supported RecordHTML output format.

How it works

  1. Enter an accessible http(s) webpage URL you have permission to record, then create an account or sign in.
  2. Choose MP4, the viewport dimensions, duration and frame rate. Configure audio, start delay, crop or output scaling if needed.
  3. Start the recording, review the saved preview and download the file. Check that fonts, assets and animations loaded correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I record a page that requires a login?
Not through a signed-in browser session you already have. The recorder uses its own browser and does not inherit your local cookies. Supply an accessible page without private credentials or choose another authorized capture workflow.
Does the tool scroll the website or click buttons?
No automatic scrolling or click sequence is offered by this form. It records the configured viewport as the page runs. Build an autoplay sequence into a page you control if the recording needs one.
Can I download an embedded video from a site?
RecordHTML records browser playback; it is not a media extraction tool. Use the site owner download or export option to obtain the original, and respect content rights and access restrictions.
Can I upload a ZIP from an HTML5 authoring tool?
Yes, when ZIP uploads are enabled on the deployment. Publish HTML5 output with index.html at the ZIP root and use relative asset paths. The current limits are 25 MiB compressed, 100 MiB expanded and 1,000 entries. Uploaded assets are publicly accessible to anyone with their link, so never include credentials or private material.
What is the maximum recording length, and can I include audio?
Your account limit is shown in the recorder; the default maximum is 60 seconds. The schema supports up to 300 seconds if configured. MP4 and WebM can include audio; GIF cannot. Confirm that the creative plays audio correctly and that the destination permits it before delivery.
Will WebGL work, and will the file fit an ad-network limit?
WebGL can run in the recording browser, but you should test the specific creative and its assets. No fixed output file-size guarantee is made. Video bitrate and duration affect size; GIF also depends on dimensions, frame rate and visual complexity. Check the destination specification and measure the downloaded file before submitting it.
